All sites are closed on days that school is not in session.

Krueger Middle School

Elementary Before School Care
Monday - Friday
6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
$28.00 per week per child
Financial assistance is available by application or by applying for CCDF vouchers.
Elementary and PreK After School Enrichment
Monday - Friday
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Knapp, Edgewood, Joy, Lake Hills, Marsh, Coolspring, and Little Wolves
No fee for the afterschool programs.
Middle School & High School
Monday - Thursday
2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Barker, Krueger, Michigan City High School
Free Service
Transportation home from Club Discovery and Club Explore at 5:00 p.m. is available for students in the bus area beginning after Labor Day.
Temporary assistance for morning care fees is available for families meeting eligibility requirements. Ask a site coordinator for an application.

About Middle School: Club Discovery

SAFE HARBOR CLUB DISCOVERY

Club Discovery is the Safe Harbor after-school enrichment program at Barker and Krueger Middle Schools.
-
Cub Discovery provides a safe fun environment for students to gather, hang out with friends and learn new things.
-
Students participate in daily academic support and diverse enrichment programs, as well as fun activities. Services include:

Afterschool Snack
-
Time for homework
-
Enrichment opportunities in robotics, pilates, competitive speed cup stacking and many more.

Instructor led art sessions with community partner Lubeznik Center for the Arts

Instructor led physical fitness
-
Gaming systems
-
Foosball
-

Club Discovery is in session everyday that regular school is in session, Mondays - Thursdays.

Cub Discovery meets in the cafeteria at 2:15.

Bus transportation home at 5:00 on MCAS busses is provided for students who live within the bus district.

Parents can pick students up in the front of the building.

There is no fee for Club Discovery.

About High School: Club Explore

Club Explore is the Safe Harbor after-school enrichment program at Michigan City High School.

Club Explore provides a safe, fun environment for students to gather, hang out with friends, and learn new things.

Club Explore provides an opportunity for students to explore different activities, hobbies, and careers.

Students participate in daily academic support, diverse enrichment programs, and fun activities. Areas of interest include:

Competetive robotics (RoboBlitz)

Carpentry and woodworking

3-D printing

Web design & engineering

Entrepreneurial Academy

VR Adventures

Club Explore is in session every day that regular school is in session, Mondays - Thursdays.

Club Explore starts in the cafeteria at 2:15 for a snack then moves to the Tech Ed department for enrichment.

Bus transportation home at 5:00 on MCAS busses is provided for students who live within the city limits.

Parents can also pick students up at Door D by the tennis courts by 5:00 PM.

There is no fee for Club Explore.

Feel free to leave a note in the Safe Harbor mailbox located in your school office, or meet with them on site daily 1:00-6:00 for pre-school and elementary sites, and 1:00 to 5:00 at the middle schools and high school.
